About Real Asset News

Real Asset News is an information source for investors of all stripes who are seeking good information about price changes occurring in the real economy. Our readers are oil and gas operators, agricultural producers, family office CIOs, Wall Street executives and individual investors. The unifying thread amongst them is a desire for more data from which to draw a better read on markets and the economy.

Real Asset News exists because we observe that after a multi-decade process of disinflation coupled with successive rounds of quantitative easing, many market participants have found themselves without the language or tools to analyze movements in price levels with any dexterity. There is in fact a middle ground between deflation and banana republic levels of hyperinflation. Inflation eras are often impolitely persistent, lasting multiple business cycles. Heightened inflation expectations affect investment and business decisions due to the skew in business costs, realized profitability and interest rate assumptions. We believe this is worth discussing at length and with some alacrity.
